Daniel Potter, CPA

Daniel Potter is a seasoned financial advisor who has been helping families achieve their financial goals since 2013. With a foundation in economics from Brigham Young University, where he graduated in 2000, Dan brings a unique blend of analytical insight and real-world experience to his practice.

Dan began his career in sales at a software company from 2001 to 2003, before being introduced to the financial services industry while working with another advisor. In 2004, he joined his father's tax and accounting practice, which led him back to school at the University of Houston to complete the accounting coursework required to become a CPA. In 2010, Dan became managing partner of Potter & Golden, P.C., a role he continues to serve with dedication and leadership.

Since 2010, Dan has been an Endorsed Local Provider (ELP) in tax and accounting for Dave Ramsey, and in 2016, he became a SmartVestor Pro, helping individuals and families navigate financial decisions with confidence and integrity.

Dan lives in Missouri City, Texas, with his wife of 16+ years, Cheryl, and their two children, Talmage and Keziah. He is actively involved in his church community in Sienna and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. A passionate sports fan, Dan cheers enthusiastically for both the BYU and University of Houston Cougars.
